    Overview

    Chadar Trek

Chadar Trek, also known as Zanskar River Trek- Are you looking for a true adventure trek with stunning views? Your safest bet is the Chadar Frozen River Trek Package. This trek is 55 kilometres long one way, with an average daily distance of 15-17 kilometres. Most mountain passes are closed in the winter due to snowfall, and the frozen Zanskar river becomes the only way for people near Zanskar to communicate with the rest of the world.  The Zanskar Valley route is only open in January and February. The humidity will drop to -30 to -35 degrees Celsius at times. Despite the cold, the sun and blue skies are up and shining by 7:00 a.m., and that is when our day starts. While most of the trekking will take place on a frozen river, chadar, or a common trail in Zanskar, we will sometimes climb icy rocks or trails.

    Arrival Leh
Because most roads are closed during the winter, the only way to get to Ladakh is by air. During the winter, temperatures in Leh will often be in the negatives, so bring warm clothing on the plane to prevent being affected by the sudden drop in temperature as you descend. Leh is blanketed in snow, and the roads are sometimes buried beneath a dense layer of ice. The district can only be partially open as a result of this. Only stores that cater to local needs will be open, so buy all of your gear in your hometown. This may be the most difficult day because it is your first day in Leh, with an overnight stay at the lodge.
    Day - 1
    Leh - Acclimatization Day
Today is the most important day because it is set aside for acclimatisation and rest, allowing your body to adjust to the changing weather conditions. Another choice is to go on a half-day sightseeing tour of the city, visiting popular attractions such as the Shanti Stupa, Hall of Fame, Leh Palace, local monasteries, and other similar locations. The motel will be our home for the moment.
    Day - 2
    Medical Check-up in Leh
We'll go to the tourist information centre today for a mandatory medical checkup done by local government officials, as well as a NOC from ALTOA and a Wildlife Department permit. This method applies to everyone visiting Leh Ladakh during the winter for the Chadar Trek. This process ensures that each trekker/climber possesses the necessary physical fitness. Staying in a hotel for the night.
    Day - 3
    Leh - Shingra Koma
It's the first day of your trek on the frozen river Zanskar, so get ready for some thrill. After nearly three days of acclimatisation and medical procedures, you can finally begin your most incredible Chadar Trek. The awe-inspiring scenery of the Zanskar River is well worth seeing. Our guide will brief you on how to prepare for the trek and how to walk on Chadar, as it is critical to have all of the necessary information. They'll also show you how to walk without crampons while wearing gumboots. We will ride from Leh to Shingra Koma, which is approximately 70 kilometres from Leh City and will take nearly three hours to reach. We'll also go on a brief 2-hour hike. In comparison to the trails that will be coming up in the coming days, today's trail is very straightforward. It will also be your first time staying in a camp for more than one night. Tents are used for the night at Shingra Koma.
    Day - 4
    Shingra Koma - Tibb Cave
We'll start the day with a steaming cup of tea and a delectable breakfast. The walk today is a 14-kilometer trail on Chadar, and it will take about 6 to 7 hours to get to the next campsite. Along with the suitcase, we'll be carrying a packed snack. The sun reaches around 9 or 10 a.m. during the winter months. Along the way, you'll see a few icy waterfalls. You'll arrive in Tibb late in the afternoon, and the final 200 metres will be breathtaking. At Tibb, you should stay in a camp.
    Day - 5
    Tibb cave - Nyerak camp
We will begin our journey towards Nyerak waterfalls after a hearty breakfast. On the way, stop for lunch in a quaint cave. The trail is about 13 kilometres long, and getting to the next campsite will take almost 7 hours. The Zanskar area begins in Nyerak, which is the first town. If we arrive at our destination on time, we have the option of visiting Nyerak Village. You'll arrive at the campsite in the afternoon, giving you plenty of time to take in the breathtaking Nyerak waterfall. After lunch, it should take you about half an hour to get to the massive Nyerak waterfall. Return to the campground for dinner. Tents are provided for the night at Nyerak.
    Day - 6
    Nyerak - Tibb Cave
Retrace your steps back to the Tibb campsite after breakfast. The return route would appear to be much simpler because we already knew the trail. The Zanskar River's shape is continuously changing due to the weather. On the way back, it becomes harder to distinguish the sights, and it appears to be a completely different place. At Tibb, you'll spend the night in a tent.
    Day - 7
Tibb Cave - Bakula - Leh
After breakfast, you can hike for about 7 to 8 hours to reach Bakula. Your journey through the enchanting Zanskar comes to an end with a drive to Leh. Staying in a hotel for the night.
    Day - 8
    (Return) Leh to Destination
With the final breakfast of the enchanting Chadar Trek with the family who accompanied you on the trek for support and encouragement. You will board your flight back to your home cities from the Leh airport, your heart full of happy memories and the insane activities you did on the Chadar trek.
