    Overview

    Stok Kangri Peak Expedition

Mount Stok Kangri is one of nature’s most beautiful peaks, particularly for those who have always wanted to be a climber but have never had the chance. To begin with, stok kangri is the highest peak in the Himlayas’ stok range. Stok kangri is acclaimed for being the first non-technical high-altitude mountaineering expedition. It is considered as one of the easiest 6000 m. treks in the world, but it is still a challenging expedition into high altitude mountaineering. Read More

    Itinerary Details

Reporting in Leh and check-in to Hotel. Overnight stay.
There are different ways to get to Leh. You can drive all the way from New Delhi to get here. Alternatively, you can fly from New Delhi to Leh or take a train to Jammu and then drive the rest of the way. Please provide travel plans when booking so that we can organise pick-up and transfer when you arrive in town. Hotel for the night.
    Day - 1
Orientation & Briefing of the trek – Trek Preparation & window shopping
Day two is for you to begin recharging your batteries in preparation for the upcoming Stok Kangri trek, as well as acclimate to the cold, high altitude, and decreasing oxygen levels. You can also spend your free time strolling through town and learning about the local culture. You can visit the Ladakh plateau's raw beauty, shop at local markets, or visit one of the many Buddhist stupas and monasteries nearby. Return to your hotel in the evening for another overnight stay in town.
    Day - 2
Reach Stok village after 30 mins drive from Leh
Begin your journey to Mankarmo (4,250 meters/13,940 feet). Trekking time is estimated to be 4-5 hours. Tents will be used for the weekend. This day will show you the true beauty of Ladakh and explain why it is known as the cold desert. You can cross 2-3 small streams while trekking, it is a pretty straightforward trek along the river, and you will enjoy the overnight stay in tents.
    Day - 3
Trek to Stok Kangri Base Camp (5000 mtrs/16,400 ft)
Trekking time is estimated to be between 2 and 3 hours. The rest of the day will be spent preparing for the summit. The next part of the Stok Kangri trek will take you to the summit's base camp. It will be a tricky climb because as you gain altitude, your oxygen levels will decrease. The trek will take you along rocky and narrow mountain trails the whole way. Though climbing and breathing will be difficult, the breathtaking scenery will make up for it and make this a fantastic excursion. The trail will become broader and smoother after crossing a hissing river, but it will continue to climb.
    Day - 4
Acclimatization walk (5,400 mtrs/17,700 ft) and back to Base Camp
This is one of the most memorable days of your trip, despite the fact that it does not include any hiking. The remainder has been included so that you can continue to acclimate to the weather and topographical conditions, as well as obtain the required information for summit climbing. During the ascent, your guide or team leader will brief you on the various obstacles and risks you may encounter. Make sure you're wearing snow boots so the snow will be soft and your feet will sink into it. Inquire with your guide about the trek's itinerary, the region's terrain, and what you'll need to do or bring. Explore the area after the briefing, take photographs, relax, and then enjoy another overnight.
    Day - 5
    Summit attempt
Another day of long and strenuous mountaineering begins in the morning. Because of the length of the journey, it will be divided into several smaller parts, with rest stops in between. You'll begin your journey here and end up at a glacier. The climb will begin with a steep and long ascent, followed by a gradual decrease in altitude gain. The slopes and ascent will be mild until you reach the majestic ice river that flows from the summit. After a three-hour hike from the base camp, you arrive at the glacier. Here is where the genuine ascent to the top of Mount Stok Kangri starts. You'll have to climb for another two hours along the mountain's southern face to get to the top. The slope here is nearly 75 degrees, and the route is littered with small rocks and giant boulders. Remember to climb cautiously because even a minor blunder can be fatal.
    Day - 6
    Trek back to Stok Village
Trekking time is estimated to be 4-5 hours. Take the road to Leh. Stay for the night. The final stage of your Stok Kangri trek will take you 12 kilometres to the village of Stok. Arrive in the village and board a van to return to Leh. Transfer to your lodging and rest for the night until you arrive in town.
    Day - 7
    Group breakup after breakfast
Before the group splits up in the morning, we will give breakfast. Travel to the airport to catch your connecting flight, or take a bus or cab to New Delhi.
    Day - 8
