Overview
Bandarpunch Expedition
Bandarpunch is a lovely mountain area in Uttarakhand’s Western Garhwal region that means “monkey’s tail” in Hindi. At a height of 19,685 feet, these mountains are divided into three groups: Bandarpunch I, Bandarpunch II, and Kalanag. The “white peak” is another name for Bandarpunch II. A massif refers to a group of mountains. This massif can be seen from a number of locations in Garhwal. With a group that included Tenzin Norgay, Maj Gen Harrold Williams was the first person to successfully complete this expedition around 1950. Read More
The Hanuman Ganga valley is traversed by the Bandar punch trek route map. In his own biography, Tenzin Norgay refers to Bandarpunch as “Doon school mountain.” We’ll approach the massif from the south-east, which was pioneered by the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM) when they sent their students on an advanced mountaineering course in the spring. This trek’s basecamp will be in Sukhi, which is on the way to Gangotri.
