    Overview

    Roopkund Trek

Roopkund Trek is one of the Himalayas’ most beautiful and challenging winter treks. The frozen lake is merely beautiful and a treat to the eyes, offering panoramic views of trees and mountains covered in pure snow. The views of snow on the mountains are very enticing, and one can’t take their gaze away from them. Trekking in the Himalayas in January and February is difficult, but Roopkund Trek provides the ideal opportunity to do so; it is also the best time to trek here if you want to avoid the crowds. Those who have already completed the Roopkund trek should opt for other comparable alternatives in the Uttarkhand area, such as the Bali Pass, Read More

    Itinerary Details

    Kathgodham To Lohajung Drive
The journey will begin with a morning pick-up at 7 a.m. from Kathgodham Railway Station. We'll drive from Kathgodham to Lohajung, passing by the rivers Ganga and Alaknanda until we turn right for the Pinder valley, passing through Almora and Kausani on our way to the majestic Kumaon Mountains. Tents will be used for the weekend.
    Day - 1
    Lohajung – Didana Trek
The first day of the journey will take you through a mixed forest with a variety of birds, playful streams that will give you the "Himalayan bite," the sting that cold streams provide, and the village life of those who live in this terrain. The 5-hour hike will take you downhill and then uphill before arriving at the campsite above Didana village, where we will camp.
    Day - 2
Didana – Bedni Bugyal Via Ali Bugyal Trek
The alpine grazing meadows known as Bedni Bugyal are reached after a steady climb through dense oak woodland. The trek will take us through the lovely Ali Bugyal. It's the perfect spot for a rest, where the vastness of the meadow, the clear skies, and the enchanting view of Trishul peak will fill you with peace and happiness. The breathtaking views of the Garhwal Himalayan ranges can be seen ahead of you. Arrive at the best Himalayan camping spot. Tents will be used for the weekend.
    Day - 3
    Bedni Bugyal – Bhagubasa Trek
The journey starts with a climb up the meadow slopes to the Kaluvinayak shrine, where we will be treated to some of the most breathtaking views of the Neelkanth, Chaukhambha, and Hathi peaks. The rest of the trek and the amount of snow we encounter will be determined by the season we visit. We'll have to walk through some rocky terrain for a short distance to reach the deserted campsite at Bhagubasa, where we'll have some breathing difficulties at first, but we'll get used to it. Tents will be used for the weekend.
    Day - 4
Bhagubasa To Roopkund Summit And Return To Patharnachauni Trek
The trek to Roopkund from Bhagubasa is a 5-6 km gradual ascent. It all starts with traversing the rocky terrain, which isn't too difficult to climb. Even a 5-6 km walk is difficult for you, and you are weary. As you progress on your trek, you'll see majestic peaks like Ghunti, Trishul, Nanda, and Chaukhambha. The suffering, however, is well worth the gain. Reaching the summit of Roopkund is an accomplishment in and of itself. After spending some time capturing the beauty of Roopkund in your cameras, we will trek back to Patharnachauni with a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment. Tents will be used for the weekend.
    Day - 5
Patharnachauni To Wan And Further Drive To Lohajung
From Patharnachauni, we will begin our journey towards the lovely village of Wan today. Despite our reluctance to leave, we will make our way to wan village – back to civilization. Wan, a large village with hills, mountains, and laughing faces, feels very much at home. We'll continue on to Lohajung after spending some time in Wan. Our trek will come to an end here, and we will board the vans that will take us down to Lohajung. Lohajung is where you can spend the night.
    Day - 6
    Lohajung To Kathgodam Drive
We'll say our goodbyes to the lovely Lohajung and return to Kathgodham. Arrive at Kathgodham around 9 p.m. This is when the journey comes to an end.
    Day - 7
