Book Affordable Do Dham Yatra Package from Haridwar, Rishikesh & Delhi

The Do Dham Yatra is one of the most sacred Himalayan pilgrimages, covering the divine shrines of Kedarnath Temple and Badrinath Temple, two of the holiest temples in Uttarakhand and an important part of the Char Dham circuit. Nestled deep in the majestic Garhwal Himalayas, this spiritual journey combines devotion, mythology, and breathtaking natural beauty. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks, glacier-fed rivers, and peaceful valleys, the yatra offers not only divine blessings but also a truly unforgettable Himalayan experience.

Kedarnath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is located at an altitude of 3,583 meters (11,755 ft) near the sacred Mandakini River. Believed to be established by Adi Shankaracharya, this ancient stone temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and holds immense spiritual significance for devotees. The scenic 16 km trek to Kedarnath from Gaurikund adds a sense of devotion and adventure to the pilgrimage. [read more]

Badrinath Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, is situated at an altitude of 3,133 meters (10,279 ft) along the banks of the holy Alaknanda River. The temple is part of both the Char Dham and Chota Char Dham pilgrimage circuits and is surrounded by the Nar and Narayan mountain ranges. Pilgrims also visit nearby attractions such as Tapt Kund, Mana Village (the last Indian village near the Tibet border), and Vyas Gufa.

FAQ's

The Do Dham Yatra is a pilgrimage to Kedarnath and Badrinath temples in Uttarakhand. Pilgrims visit these two sacred Himalayan shrines (Lord Shiva’s Kedarnath and Lord Vishnu’s Badrinath), usually over 5–6 days, often as part of the Chota Char Dham circuit.

Most itineraries span 6 days (5 nights). For example: Day1 – Haridwar to Guptkashi; Day2 – Kedarnath (trek/heli); Day3 – return; Day4 – travel to Badrinath; Day5 – Badrinath Darshan; Day6 – return to Haridwar. (Dream Go Himalayas offers both 5-night and 6-night options.)

Late April/May through June and September/October are ideal. The shrines open in May (after Akshaya Tritiya) and close by November (Bhatridwitiya). Weather is mild then. Avoid monsoon (July-Aug) due to landslides, and deep winter snow closures.

The Kedarnath trek is moderate-to-strenuous: about 16–18 km one-way from Gaurikund to the temple, with 1,200 m elevation gain. Pilgrims should be fit; many hire ponies or palanquins, or take a helicopter from Phata/Sersi for an easier approach.

Yes. All pilgrims must register on the Uttarakhand tourism portal (see BKTC site) before travel. Valid photo ID is required to enter temple premises. Permits are quick and free (with limited daily quotas).

Standard packages (like Dream Go’s) include transport (by private vehicle or AC Volvo), hotels/lodgesmeals, experienced guide, and local support. They exclude personal expenses, helicopter/pony rides, and sometimes lunches. Always confirm inclusions in your package.

Yes, helicopter shuttles run (weather permitting) to Kedarnath from Phata or Sirsi helipads. This reduces the 6–8 hour trek to a 5–10 minute flight. Dream Go can arrange helitours; note additional costs. Badrinath has helipad at Govindghat if needed.

Many families undertake Do Dham with children and elders. Trek segments can be challenging, so younger children and older seniors often use helicopters or ponies. Traveling in summer months and using medical precautions (consult a doctor) makes the journey safer for all ages.

Pack warm layers (it gets cold at altitude, even in summer), waterproof jacket, good trekking shoes or sports sandals, sun protection, and any personal medications. A walking stick can help on the trek. Carry light luggage for easier transit.
