    The trek takes place in Kashmir, renowned for its breathtaking landscapes. Spanning 7 to 9 days, this trek is graded as moderate, challenging trekkers with its varied terrain. Reaching an elevation of approximately 13,750 feet and covering around 63 km, it promises both physical exertion and emotional fulfillment.

    Itinerary Details

    Arrival at Shitkadi Camp
    Your Kashmir Great Lakes trek adventure kicks off at the quaint Shitkadi Village, a short drive from Sonamarg, roughly 3 hours from Srinagar. Upon arrival, Dreamgohimalayas representatives will transport you from Sonamarg to Shitkadi, where you’ll spend the night amidst the picturesque landscapes. Marvel at the towering peaks like Kolahoi, Tribal, Machoi, Amarnath, and the stunning Machoi Glacier. Enjoy a scenic drive through expansive meadows and grasslands. The evening includes a briefing session, an early dinner, and ample rest to prepare for the trek ahead.
    Day - 1
    Shitkadi Camp to Nichinai via Shekdur
    Embark on a 9 km trek starting 3 km from Sonamarg on Srinagar Road, passing a lone Dhaba for last-minute snacks. The trek diverges from the main road, leading you through lush meadows and dense Maple forests. Ascend through picturesque Maple cover, then descend to Shekdur, a meadow adorned with Silver Birch trees. This spot, surrounded by Bhoj trees, is ideal for stunning photographs. After a lunch break at Shekdur, continue to Nichinai, walking through forests and a river valley, flanked by snow-capped peaks. Camp at Nichinai, ending the first day’s trek.
    Day - 2
    Nichinai to Vishansar Lake via Nichinai Pass
    Begin early, trekking towards Vishansar Lake, the first of the Great Lakes. The trail involves a climb to Nichinai Pass at 13,100 ft, offering stunning views of the Sonamarg Valley. Descend to alpine meadows, cross icy streams, and reach the Vishansar Lake, nestled between four mountains. The lake’s colors shift throughout the day, from colorless at sunrise to deep aquamarine blue by afternoon. Camp near Vishansar Lake, enjoying the serene beauty and preparing for the next leg of the journey.
    Day - 3
    Acclimatization Day
    Spend the day acclimatizing to the high altitude. A short trek to Kishansar Lake, 0.5 km from Vishansar, helps with acclimatization. Situated at the base of Kishansar Peak, the lake is surrounded by a large meadow, perfect for photography. Use this day to rest and adapt to the altitude, ensuring a safer and more enjoyable trek ahead.
    Day - 4
    Vishansar Lake to Gadsar Lake via Gadsar Pass
    Trek to Kishansar Lake and then ascend to Gadsar Pass at 13,750 ft, the highest point of the day’s trek. Enjoy panoramic views of the twin lakes, Vishansar and Kishansar, and the surrounding snow-clad peaks. Descend to Yamsar Lake and continue through vibrant meadows adorned with wildflowers. Reach Gadsar Lake, a stunning alpine lake at 12,000 ft. Camp near Gadsar Lake or continue to the Gadsar army camp for the night, ensuring to leave the campsite clean.
    Day - 5
    Gadsar to Satsar
    From the army camp, ascend through the mountains, gaining 1,100 ft in altitude. Traverse flat meadows and reach Satsar, a cluster of seven lakes. Camp near one of the Satsar Lakes, surrounded by lush greenery and mountain views. Another army check post requires ID verification before continuing to the lakes. Enjoy the serene beauty of the lakes and rest for the night.
    Day - 6
    Satsar to Gangabal Twin Lakes via Zaj Pass
    Begin the trek with a mild ascent, followed by a steep climb and a descent to the biggest Satsar Lake. Traverse rocky terrain and climb three ridges, reaching 13,000 ft. Descend to the Gangabal twin lakes, Nandkol and Gangbal. Cross a wooden bridge to reach the Nandkol campsite, a popular spot for fishing and camping. Explore Gangbal Lake, a short distance from Nandkol, and enjoy the stunning views.
    Day - 7
    Gangabal to Naranag, Drive to Srinagar
    The final leg involves a steep descent through ridges and meadows, with views of Harmukh Peak. Re-enter the treeline, passing log huts and pine forests. The last stretch is a challenging descent to Naranag village. From Naranag, drive back to Srinagar, expected arrival by 6:30 pm. Continue your onward journey from Srinagar, concluding the memorable trek.

    1. Mandatory Insurance: Insurance coverage is a must for all participants.
    2. Accommodation: Twin-sharing camping arrangements as per the itinerary.
    3. Meals (Vegetarian + Egg): Nutritious meals provided during the trek from Day 1 dinner to Day 8 lunch.
    4. Support Team:
      Versatile base camp manager for communication and emergency support.

      Qualified trek leader with mountaineering and first aid expertise.

      Experienced high-altitude chef.

      Local guides (number varies with group size).

      Adequate support staff.
    5. Trek Equipment:

      Sleeping bags, sleeping liners (if needed), mattresses, and utensils.

      All-season trekker tents (twin-sharing), kitchen and dining tents, toilet tents.

      Camping stools, walkie-talkies.

      Safety gear including ropes, helmets, ice axes, harnesses, gaiters, and crampons (if required).

    6. First Aid:

      Comprehensive medical kit, stretcher, oxygen cylinder, blood pressure monitor, oximeter, and stethoscope.

    7. Mules/Porters:

      To carry central luggage.

    8. Cloakroom Facility:

      Available at the base camp for additional luggage storage.


    9. Permits and Entry Fees:

      All necessary permits and entry fees for Indian participants.

    10. Transport Services:

      Transfers from Sonamarg to Naranag.

    1. Satellite Phone: Mobile phone connecting via satellites for remote location communication.

    2. Gamow/PAC HAPO Bag: Portable hyperbaric chamber for treating acute mountain sickness (AMS).

    3. Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs): Portable devices for treating sudden cardiac arrest.
    • At the time of booking, full payment / Rs.5,000 for Trek / Rs.10,000 for Road Trip / Mountain Expedition is required.

    • Payment for the remainder / rest of the trip must be made before the trip begins.

    • NEFT, RTGS, SWIFT, Bank Transfer, and Cash are all options for making a reservation.

    • All reservations will be subject to a 5% GST surcharge.

    • The booking deadline will be 07 days prior to the trip departure date.

    • Before making any online booking/reservation, double-check the dates and seat availability with our team through email or phone.

    • If the invoice amount exceeds 2 lacs and payment is made entirely or partially in cash (cash paid at the counter or placed in the bank), a 1% TCS will be applied and must be deposited separately from the total amount, along with a copy of the PAN card.

    • In the case of a flight reservation, full payment is needed according to the applicable airfare.

    • We must be notified through email at info@dreamgohimalayas.in if any trip/adventure activity services are cancelled owing to any avoidable/unavoidable causes.

    • Cancellation fees will apply as of the day we receive notification through mail, and they will be as follows:

      -Within the first 30 days: 90% of the total cost of the Land Package is refundable.

      -Between the ages of 21 and 30 days: 75 percent of the total cost of the land package is refundable.

      -Between 50 and 60 days: 50% of the total cost of the land package is refundable.

      -10 days or less: There will be no reimbursement.

    • After the cancellation date, the refund will be handled within 10 working days.

    • Cancellation fees will be determined based on the total trip cost, and they may vary depending on the date of departure and the date of cancellation.

    • There will be no refunds:

      -for any missed/unused tour services, including meals, owing to any reason.

      -If the tour's services are changed, altered, revised, cancelled, or not used.

      -If a customer cancels or is forced to cancel the tour due to changes in the itinerary or travel

      -If the consumer is dissatisfied with any of the operator's services
